2. 2 What is the Lisbon Agenda? The aims of the Lisbon Agenda in the area of higher education are : –To modernise Europe’s Universities –To boost Europe’s Universities as substantial reservoir of knowledge –To foster the potential as drivers of innovation of EU Universities In order to get more growth, and more and better jobs in the European Union

3. 3 What is the Bologna Process? The Bologna Process Aims to create a European Higher Education Area by 2010 Bologna declaration: a series of reforms in order to –Make EHEA more compatible and comparable in order to increase the mobility of students and scholars –Enhance the competitiveness and the attractiveness of the HE system in the globalised world

4. 4 What is the Bologna Process? The three priorities of the Bologna Process are :  Introduction of a three cycle system  Quality assurance  Qualifications and recognition of periods of studies The Commissions aims to support with the help of Tempus and Erasmus Mundus in respect to neighbouring countries

5. 5  To promote voluntary convergence with EU higher education developments deriving from the Lisbon agenda and the Bologna process  To support partner countries in the reform and modernisation of their higher education systems  Programme-wide priorities in line with EU higher education modernisation agenda: curricular reform, governance reform, higher education and society PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES Tempus IV
