4 a serious medical illness more than just feeling “down in the dumps” or “blue” for a few days it’s feeling "down" or “hopeless” for weeks, months or even years. it affects the way you eat, sleep, the way you feel about yourself, your whole outlook on life changes. it is not a sign of personal weakness or a condition that can be willed or wished away Depression:

5 Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness Loss of interest or pleasure in hobbies and activities Decreased energy, fatigue, being "slowed down" Difficulty concentrating, remembering, making decisions Insomnia, early-morning awakening, or oversleeping Appetite and weight loss or overeating and weight gain Thoughts of death or suicide Depression:

10 The presence of depression is not the absence of faith; it’s an opportunity for faith What we do in our depression and how we respond to others battling with it, may be the greatest demonstration of our faith we have in our lives
