2 Image Quality A mega pixel is the unit of measure of image quality. The higher the number of pixels the better the image will be.

3 Zoom A camera can have a digital or optical zoom. Optical zoom brings objects of the photo closer by magnifying it before taking the digital image. The result is a better image. Digital zoom actually zooms in on the digital image to enlarge it.

4 Battery Standard batteries are used is some cameras which enables you to carry replacements with you. The do not last as long but are cheap and easily replaced. Rechargeable batteries are used by some cameras. These batteries last longer but cost much more. They also require access to a power source and a battery charger.

5 Memory The more memory you have the more photos you can take provided the battery holds out. Most cameras can have additional memory inserted.
