Summarizes the major parts of either The Physical Education or Health Curriculum  Example: What is standard six under The High School Health Curriculum and what are the different components of that standard. 2. Provides 3 examples of actions or skills that students are supposed to demonstrate 3. Provides 3 examples of content or knowledge that students are supposed to know 4. List 2 observations about standards 5. List 2 questions that arise from examining standards 6. Write one daily objective that you could use in your classroom.

22 What is An Assessment?

23 Types of Assessments Diagnostic: Assessment that gives information about student’s skills and/or knowledge before instruction takes place Formative: Assessment that provides feedback to students and instructors during instruction so that both can improve Summative: Assessment that is meant to provide an evaluation of a student’s mastery or growth after instruction is completed Informal: Umbrella term for measures of student performance or understanding that are not standardized, usually feedback is quick

24 District Created Assessments BCPS has created a number of assessments. In many cases they are optional, and your school will decide if you have to give them. EOY: End of Year Exam - Final Exam MOY: Middle of Year Exam- Midterm Exam LDC: Literacy Design Collaborative  Mini-units of study meant to complement curriculum  It is important to note that The District only has Midterm and Final Exams for Health, not PE.

28 Planning Reminders… Keep in mind your End Assessment Make sure your lessons are organized and have attainable objectives Keep in mind different learning modalities and the different abilities of your students Objectives and Assessments are aligned to the curriculum Plans are engaging and keep students on track!
