APS – EUL version from 2004 Lowest geography to be NUTS2. Age banded as follows: 0-15 single years of age, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-44, 45-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-94 - single years and 95+ Economic Activity - recoded from 30 to 23 categories Qualifications - highest qualification only. Industry - 2-digit level giving 17 categories. Occupation – 3 digit level. Income - top-coded at £41,000 for annual, £3,416 a month, £788 a week. Country of birth and country of origin – number of named countries reduced, with more grouped as other Number of hours worked - top coded at 80 All family level variables and detailed health questions are dropped.
LFS EUL version from 2003 Lowest geography is GOR Age banding is: 0-4, 5-9, 10-14, 15, 16,....., 23, 24, 25- 29, 30-34,...... NS-SEC is 3 class version Occupation is SOC 2000 to 4 digits, but other occupation variables (previous job, second job) are SOC 2000 to 3 digits. Industry is SIC to 3 digits. Individuals may be linked within households in all the LFS datasets
