1 Term 3 Overview, Updates and Recap

2 Reminders Common Test for Term 3: Literary Analysis (two questions, based on TKAM, which must be supported with quotes); Essay (choice of narrative/expository) What you need to do this term: o Make sure you’ve finished reading TKAM and annotated it; start building a bank of quotations based on character/theme (we’ll discuss this in class) o Use reading period wisely to build a bank of evidence for your expository essays o If you’re worried that you don’t understand lit analysis/expository writing, clarify this with me now, not the night before your test!

16 To Kill a Mockingbird Recap & Revision: Group Activity

17 Group Activity In groups of two or three, you will be assigned a set of questions based on one of the chapters of To Kill a Mockingbird. Work in your groups to answer these questions. Each group needs to submit just one set of answers. You may refer only to your copies of the novel (no phones!) Your answers don't have to be in PEEL paragraphs – bullet points are ok – but please make sure they're well thought through and supported by the text. They also need to be legible as I’ll be collecting your answers at the end of the class.
