1 Comprehensive Curriculum Advanced Math I

2 Each of the eight units have the same structure. All are based on the GLEs for grades 11 and 12. Each unit has a brief description, student understandings, guiding. questions, and a list of the GLEs and benchmarks covered in the unit. There are between seven and nine activities listed for each unit. Each activity lists the GLEs covered by the activity. Each unit ends with three general assessments and at least three specific activity assessments. The Structure of the Advanced Math I Course

3 Vocabulary is integral to the course. Therefore the first activity in each unit is the Glossary. Each student should have a section in his or her notebook for vocabulary. Words should be added as they are encountered in the unit. Review is very important. Students should complete a review sheet at least once a week. Writing plays a very important part in this course. Therefore, many of the activities have a writing component. There is also a general writing assessment for each of the units.
