4 Methodology Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance System (YRBSS) U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 50 states and U.S. Territories (Guam, Virgin Island, Puerto Rico, etc.) Survey data collected every two years in schools Dr. DuongTran 10/21/104

5 Characteristics of the National, State, and Local School-Based YRBS 9 th – 12th grade students Probability samples of schools and students Anonymous Self-administered, computer-scannable questionnaire or answer sheet Completed in one class period (45 minutes) Conducted biennially usually during the spring Dr. DuongTran 10/21/105
