2 Page 2 Improvement and support of the undergraduate education in EE is one of the prime goals of IEEE- IES. Technical committees on power electronics and electric machines/drives within IES have assigned judges from industry to participate in the final testing of the prototypes. There will be two separate awards for innovation in power electronic design and control of electricdrives. Undergraduate Education

3 Page 3 The recipients of these awards will be invited to attend the IECON 2009 and receive their awards at the banquet. (Travel expenses for the team representative will be covered.) The award includes a $5000.00 cash award along with a certificate. l IEEE –IES would like to play a more active role in the future IFEC Competitions.
