6. Duties of the President n The president must report the condition of the nation to Congress. The president usually does this in the State of the Union Address in January of each year. n As chief executive, the president welcomes important officials from foreign countries. n The president is responsible for making sure that all laws are carried out.

Qualifications and Salary n To be president a person must have been born in the U.S.. n In order to be president you must be at least 35 years old and lived in the U.S. for 14 years. n The president’s salary is $ 400,000 per year with a $50,000 personal expense account.
