2 Nouns are parts of speech that name people, places, and things
Nouns are parts of speech that name people, places, and things. We always say, “If you can count it, it’s a noun.”

3 Concrete nouns name people, places or things that can be perceived by the senses. We can count concrete nouns. Examples: bike, house, sun, Billy Bob, teacher, mountain, glass

4 Abstract Nouns name ideas, beliefs, qualities, or concepts – things that cannot be perceived by the senses. Examples: freedom, confidence, joy, wealth, beauty, mood, existence

5 Singular possessive are nouns that are owned by one person or one group. Examples: uncle’s address parrot’s food James’s notebook story’s plot

6 Plural Possessive Nouns indicate ownership by more than one person or group. Examples: teenagers’ concerns peoples’ homes Munniers’ driveway countries’ leaders
