Sit down and show me you are ready to do a “SODA SPRAY”

3. Diet Coke & Mentos
Mythbusters explanation:

4. Soda Spray Materials: 2L bottle of Diet Coke, 2 Mentos candies
Procedure:
Do this experiment somewhere where it is ok to make a mess (outside)
Open the bottle of pop
Quickly put 2 Mentos candies in the bottle
Observe and record results

Results:
the diet coke erupted out of the bottle when the candies were added

6. Soda Spray Inferences: Soda pop has carbon dioxide molecules in it
Mentos have lots of tiny craters on the surface
When the carbon dioxide molecules attach to the candy they turn into carbon dioxide gas, which escapes out of the bottle
Carbon dioxide is just one of the gases that make up air

The steel wool developed rust and the water level rose in the beaker

Once all of the oxygen is used up, no more rusting will occur

Air is made up of a mixture of gases. Nitrogen represents 78 %, oxygen makes up 21% and argon, carbon dioxide and other trace gases make up 1% together. Represent these numbers in a pie chart and bar graph.
