2 ROMANIAN TRADITIONS Strong folk traditions have survived to this day due to the rural character of the Romanian communities, which has resulted in an exceptionally vital and creative traditional culture. made by Camelia Mucea, June, 2014 Traditional folk arts include wood carving, ceramics, weaving and embroidery of costumes, household decorations, dance, and richly varied folk music.

Dragobete was the son of Baba Dochia, which stands for the main character in the pagan myth related to spring arrival and the end of the harsh winter.

8 ROMANIAN MYTHOLOGY Apa Sâmbetei It is said that the souls of the deceased follow the course of rivers into the Apa Sâmbetei. APA VIE "Water of Life“ means the water from which heroes drink so that they come back to life after healing their wounds. APA MOARTA "Water of Death“ is the complement of,,apa vie" Usually, reviving a dead person is done (in such tales) by putting this Dead Water on their wounds to heal them and then bring them back to life with Living Water, because the Living Water cannot heal the wounds of the dead, and even revived, the people would still bleed to death without being healed first. made by Camelia Mucea, June, 2014
