2. King Juan Carlos was born in Rome Italy on January 5 th 1938. He is best known as the king of Spain since November 22 nd 1975, to present.

3. His Education: King Juan Carlos completed his education from 1960 to 1961 at the Complutense University in Madrid, where he studied constitutional and international law, economics, and taxation.

6. Interesting Fact In March 1956, his younger brother Alfonso died in a gun accident at the families home in Portugal. He was cleaning his gun and a shot was fired and got shot in the forehead and died a few minutes later. People accused Juan Carlos of killing his brother. 9. Health On May 8 th 2010, King Juan Carlos had a tumor removed from his lung. Doctors said the procedure went well and did not need further treatment.

10. Interesting Facts Every year, King Juan Carlos gives out an award to the best writers of the Spanish language to both continents. His real name is….Juan Carlos Alfonso Victor Maria de Borbon y Borbon. He was temporarily King when Franco had a serious illness in 1974
