2 It’s a girl! Helen Keller was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, and her parents names were Kate and Arther Keller.

3 Young life She caught a high fever and lost the ability to see and hear after the illness. Her teacher, Anne Sullivan, taught her to read and write Braille.

4 College Helen went to Radcliffe College and wrote her first book called The Story of My Life.

5 Helen Keller met every president from JFK to Grover Cleveland and became good friends with them.

6 Helen Keller played in a movie, but she became poor, so she quit and became a vaudeville performer.

7 She hired a secretary named Polly Thomson.

8 She worked for the American Foundation for the Blind.

9 Anne Sullivan died on October 15, 1936, and Helen was sad.

10 Helen and Polly went to Japan and was given a award.

11 On 1960, Polly Thomson died and Winnie Corbally became her secretary.

12 Helen Keller died on June 1, 1968.
