5. Historic perspectives A group of qualified nurses came to Taiwan for missionary work. They worked as nurses and provided care to patients and trained women to be nurses. Start from Qing dynasty (1644-1911) 5

6. The Most famous example of the nurses were Mrs. Dr. J. Laidlaw Maxwell Mrs. Dr. Gushue Taylor Miss Alice Fullerton who worked in Tainan Xin Lou in 1901. 6
