5 WHAT A MENTOR LOOKS Like The mentor is an experienced and involved Rotarian. The mentor will ideally be somebody who knows the history of the club and RI. The mentor should have time to interact and support the member. (normally a new member is mentored for at least one year). The mentor is a good listener and approachable.

6 HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM A NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION? A mentor is a part of the new member orientation program and is designed to increase the likelihood that a new member will get engaged, excited and involved. It promotes a smooth transition into the club. A mentorship program is normally overseen by the membership committee.
