1. Quickwrite #1 Respond to the following question in your Writer’s Notebook  What does it mean to be college and career ready?  Write 5 – 10 adjectives that describe a person who is college and career ready.

2. “A Fish Story”  Read “A Fish Story” independently.  If you have questions about vocabulary, raise your hand.  Then respond to the following questions in your writer’s notebook. Be sure to answer all questions in complete sentences. Why were the students confused by the teacher’s actions in “A Fish Story”? What would you have done if your were one of the students in the class? What message was the teacher trying to convey to his students? How does this story relate to being college and career ready?
