How to Search for Information Do not ask the computer a question… “Where do Buddhists worship and who leads this?” …it will not give you an answer! Instead use keywords: “Buddhism AND places of worship” ***using quotations will refine your search to EXACTLY what you are researching***

Bibliography/Works Cited  A bibliography is a list of citations for books, periodical articles or other materials, such as personal/professional websites.  A “Works Cited” Page is just another name for a Bibliography. They mean the same thing.

Why do we need to have a bibliography?  Bibliographies are very important when it comes to research. If information comes from somewhere other than YOUR OWN KNOWLEDGE, you must give credit to the original researcher!!!  Copying someone else’s work is called PLAGIARISM.

Plagiarism??  A piece of writing that has been copied from someone else and is presented as being your own work.  The act of plagiarizing; taking someone's words or ideas as if they were your own.

How to write a bibliography…  In order to write a bibliography, you must take into consideration the following things… 1. REMEMBER each source you used to gather your information!! Document, document, document!! 2. Citations (Information that identifies a book or Internet article) must be in ABC order! 3. Citations are double spaced 4. Indent the second line of every long citation.
