WCDAS Numbers DCS Help Desk at 757-824-7450 or 7451 Email is WCDADAPS@NOAA.GOV with copies to michael.b.galeone@noaa.govWCDADAPS@NOAA.GOVmichael.b.galeone@noaa.gov Contact Phil Whaley at (757) 824-7331 or Al McMath at (757) 824-7316 DOMSAT frequency is 11,817.5Mhz. No longer supporting telnet

WCDAS Numbers Wallops Pilot 401.85 (channel 100) Wallops Backup Pilot 401.7 MHZ (channel 0)

Wallops LRGS Configuration The demodulators for both East and West continue to feed the LRGS directly through the DAMS-NT. The cdadata server is consider the primary LRGS The cdabackup server is considered the secondary LRGS which mirrors EDDN The drot should be considered a troubleshooting tool to verify the DOMSAT downlink. LRGS version 7.0 has become the standard and all Wallops LRGS have been updated (drot and cdabackup updated in the last month). Accounts are built through NOAA and shared with USGS Sites and IPs: –http://cdadata.wcda.noaa.gov (205.156.2.174)http://cdadata.wcda.noaa.gov –http://drot.wcda.noaa.gov (205.156.2.186)http://drot.wcda.noaa.gov –http://cdabackup.wcda.noaa.gov (205.156.2.189)http://cdabackup.wcda.noaa.gov

Wallops LRGS Configuration Recent (Oct 09) updates to the LRGS/LRIT applications provided: Wallops with the ability to simultaneously stream the DCS data to the NSOF primary, backup, and the OSDPD Backup Facility (OBF) LRIT servers Provided Wallops with enhanced troubleshooting tools to monitor the LRIT delivery of the three streams

LRIT Status The OSDPD has acceptance tested new Domain servers that should resolve Domain data transfer problems to Wallops. The new systems are currently being integrated The DCS component of LRIT is transferred from Wallops to Suitland (via Internet) and then back to Wallops (via T-1). Occasionally, during a planned outage Wallops will simu-cast a single stream to both East and West (this keeps DCS up). LRIT is an advantage to international users because DOMSAT is limited to CONUS. 1 meter antenna receives full LRIT stream There are no re-occurring costs associated with LRIT reception.

Spacecraft Status GOES-10 is scheduled for decommission on Dec 1, 2009 (1230Z – 7:30am) Still awaiting NOAA administrator for signoff on GOES-10 decommission (approved by NESDIS). GOES-12 currently primary (75W) for East GOES-12 will support South American mission in May ‘10. Fuel available for 3 years coverage. This allows for East-West not North-South mnvrs.

Spacecraft Status GOES-13 remains in storage – but not for long GOES-13 will replace GOES-12 as the primary East spacecraft in April 2010 GOES-13 becomes East S/C at 81W and continues drift to 75W. No reposition of DCP antennae required.

Spacecraft Status GOES-11 is the primary West (135W) spacecraft and it will remain so. GOES-14 is positioned (105W) and will remain active to support the XRS instrument Batteries on GOES-11 look OK. We did not have to use GOES-13 for DCS/LRIT/EMWIN during Fall eclipse. GOES-P (GOES-15) launch is scheduled for March 10, 2010 Post Launch Testing at Wallops during the Spring of 2010

Spacecraft Constellation GOES-13 will be prime East (Apr 2010) GOES-11 will be prime West GOES-12 will support the South Americans (May 2010) GOES-14 will be in “storage” but still support XRS (X-Ray Sensor) GOES-13 will be first spacecraft to support 750Hz channelization (function of S/C power) GOES-P/15 will be placed in storage due to 5 warranty of instruments. No plans to activate S/C at this point.

Certification Version 2 (channel splitting & tighter receive filtering) of Cert Standards ratified by OSD in Oct 2009 Three certification test sets to support the new standards have been upgraded and are being deployed to vendors upon request It is not expected that 100bps will not be supported for certification after ver 2 standards are adopted (this is policy, only 4 years left on 100bps support). It has been proposed that the Wallops 300 & 1200bps test channels, for East and West, be upgraded to be compliant with the ver 2 certification standard.

Wallops Backup A second pilot remains active (channel 0) at the WBU. The frequency is 401.7MHz. Wallops staff has remote control/status capability of the WBU systems including the pilot from Wallops. LRIT and EMWIN equipment is at WBU & FCDAS still waiting for connectivity to OSDPD – multicast issue.

DAPS IT team is working security –later slide Dial-in lines were terminated in June 2009. A few calls but no serious issues in transitioning users. Dial-in users have been transitioned to the LRGS. Telnet discontinued on Oct 5, 2009 All DOMSAT and Weather Service dissemination is through DADDS Wallops Operations verifies and reports the DCS pilot levels daily.

DOMSAT Sep 1, 2009 to Aug 31, 2010 began Option Period-8 The current contract with Americom Government Services (AGS) expires September 2011. Wallops in discussion with DOMSAT provider to identify modem options for consideration in follow- on DOMSAT contract discussions (x25 and 56k bandwidth may not be practical after FY12)

DCS - Security Certification and Accreditation efforts began on Oct 1. Boundaries include Wallops and NSOF C&A package due Mar 2010 (wanted 60 days in adv) Most of DADDS security H/W in place HTTPS on Wallops systems is now in place

DADDS The transition to the DCS Alternate Data Distribution System (DADDS) began on Oct 5, 2009 DAPS –B continues to ingest data but the database is drifting. OSD has been provided requirements to transition to DADDS full time The system is being used to support NWSTG and DOMSAT feeds full time GOES Incident Reports are being written Test Transmitter delivery expected in Nov. Addition software by the end of the year.
