2 Changes to AHF funding schemes in 2013 Applicant eligibility Goodbye options appraisal grants (OAGs) Hello Project Viability Grants (PVGs) Changes to Project Development Grants (PDGs) Limited funds available ‘Cold Spots’ grants Loans policy

3 Applicant eligibility You must be a registered charity or a not-for-profit entity/organisation that is formally constituted and has a legal structure. Private individuals, commercial developers or other commercial companies are not eligible. Places of worship in current use for worship, even if owned by charities or not-for-profit organisations, are not eligible. Partnership applications are welcomed but both organisations have to be charities or not-for-profit organisations and one has to be the lead applicant, with a formal partnership agreement in place. Applicant organisations must have in their powers (contained within their articles of association or their constitution) the power to borrow money, own property, and charge a loan against assets including property.

4 Project Viability Grants Early-stage assessment of financial viability Up to £3,000 available @ 100% of cost Trust(ees) can be paid Quick decisions Final report required within 6 months or offer withdrawn

5 Project Development Grants Increased amount available: £20K > £25K Project Organiser - up to £15K 25% match funding required Professional fees – up to £15K Can include items previously part of options appraisal: e.g. market research

6 Availability of funds Extremely limited Eligible grant applications may be turned down

7 ‘Cold Spots’ grants Funded via J Paul Getty Jnr, Pilgrim Trusts & EH Previously applicable to South Wales, East Midlands... No funds currently available for the above …and to Industrial Heritage Funds available from 1 April 2013 Up to £10K available

8 Loan policy Andy Richardson – new loans manager AHF seeking larger and more diverse loans portfolio Responding to demand Flexibility on certain former requirements AHF loans based on ‘revolving fund’ model until now

9 Summary Relaxation of eligibility criteria Higher number of applications = increasingly competitive Online applications later in 2013 Attempt to deal with more buildings at risk BPTs remain at core of AHF customer base
