Prepares students to succeed in a competitive work force environment. Define what students should know and be able to do at each grade level

View common core standards to get a feel for what your child will be learning {School website/download App for Common Core Standards by Mastery Connect} Encourage your child to research a topic {using informational texts and original documents}. As your child read, ask in-depth why and how questions. Example, read three different versions of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and ask your child to compare and contrast.

10. What can you do as parent(s)? Homework: Ask him/her how this might be used in “real life”.” Examples of how you would use the concepts your learning at school in your own everyday life. (i.e. grocery shopping, work, and paying bills) Ask your child to explain or show how they’re solving problems. As your child completes homework, help them focus in on the most important aspects and core concepts.
