5  Rental responsibilities ◦ Tenants must remember the building is not your property—take good care of it ◦ Lease—written rental agreement  Length of lease  Rental fee  Condition of the apartment  Moving out of the apartment ◦ Security deposit—an amount of money, usually one month’s rent, paid to the owner of rental property when the lease is signed  The own will use the money to make repairs if you damage the apartment; if no damage, you will et the money back ◦ Never take part in a verbal only agreement
