Innovation  Efficiency  Consolidation Diversified Growth Economy Baltimore County’s economy is extremely diverse Only 5% of Baltimore County’s residents are Federal employees, and only 5% of the jobs located in Baltimore County are with Federal agencies Federal jobs make up a smaller share of total jobs in Baltimore County than they do for the State of Maryland On a per capita basis, Baltimore County’s share of total federal expenditures is actually just below the national average –Concentrated in programs such as cyber security and the administration of Medicare and Social Security that may be better positioned to withstand budget cuts than are more traditional defense systems (fighter jets, ships) and entitlement benefit payments
