2 TRCC Associate Degree in Nursing Program  Prepares students to enter the profession as Registered Nurses  Curriculum is built on pertinent social and biological sciences  Core nursing courses include classroom, college laboratory, and clinical laboratory experiences

3 Nursing - Associate in Science Degree Program Outcomes The program prepares students to become:  Providers of care  Managers of care  Members within the discipline of Nursing

4 TRCC Nursing Student Population Characteristics:  Age range from 19 to 52 (average being 31)  Many have contact with information technology for the first time  Most have multiple life responsibilities  Need to be reoriented to academia and current research methods

5 Nursing Information Literacy Program Goals  Know core print and online nursing information resources and their organization  Construct information search strategies and select effective search methods and techniques  Evaluate information quality  Use information ethically, efficiently, and responsibly
