7 MKT May 2012 Applications The new C850 gearmotor is designed to operate commercial and industrial gates (weighing up to 1800 Kg) at a much higher speed compared to the traditional industrial gate operators. E.g. 844MC with Z20 pinion : running speed 12m/min=0.2m/sec 884MC 3PH with Z16 pinion : running speed 10m/min=0.16m/sec 0.7m/sec C850 with Z28 pinion : max running speed up to

8 MKT May 2012 Applications Safety regulations and norms, in certain countries (e.g. Europe), require specific impact tests on the moving leaf, and a very high speed operator (as the C850 is) commonly doesn’t fulfill the requirements. Apart from sites in which Security has priority over Safety (e.g. Prisons, Embassies, Sensitive Target Buildings, etc…) in which the Customers, under their own responsibility, can decide to infringe what requested by the Norms, it’s important to underline that the same Norms permit to operate the automation in “Dead man logic”. “Dead man logic” requires anyway specific feature; the limitations stated in the EN12453 (point 5.1.1.4)[e.g. space needed to stop the gate when the command is released] are PERFECTLY fulfilled by the C850 gearmotor, simply adjusting the frequency and the deceleration speed through the Frequency Inverter. EN12453 (5.1.1.4) “…if the passage is wider than 500mm the space needed to stop the gate movement when the command is released must not exceed 100mm….” Examples Gate weight:1800Kg Inverter freq. 60HzDeceleration time 1sec.Space needed to stop: 95mm Gate weight:1200Kg Inverter freq. 80HzDeceleration time 0.5sec.Space needed to stop: 65mm

16 MKT May 2012 Details – installation dimensions Fixing points The operator is provided with a Z28 M4 rack pinion (no special rack requested) Height and depth can be adjusted by mean of adjustment screws (height) and on slot holes and bolts fixed on the base plate (depth) Foundation plate is provided separately by the gearmotor.

All other operators (including competitors) only have four fixing points; C850 has a fifth fixing point placed in the middle of the base plate.
