1 God Bless Thank you for coming to Samsbiblestories.com and for taking a look at the lessons I have added. These lessons are the result of years of teaching Sunday school at an Elementary level. God has richly blessed me in being able to share His Word with thousands of young people. It is now my privilege to share them with you. Please feel free to use them with your class, wherever God has planted you. The only think I ask is that you drop me a line and let me know who you are and how the lessons are working for you. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. God Bless you, Sam

2 Once, Twice, Three Times to Celebrate (Israelite Feast Days)
Bible Story-time Once, Twice, Three Times to Celebrate (Israelite Feast Days)    Exodus 23:14-19

3 (Israelite Feast Days) Exodus 23:14-19
Because we will be celebrating Thanksgiving soon, I thought we could take a look at some of the celebrations that God gave to the Nation of Israel to keep in order to remember and be thankful for the things that God did for the Jewish people. As Gentile members of God’s Church, we are not commanded to keep these same celebrations, but we should have times to set aside and think about what God means to us and what He has done for us.

4 FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD
Exodus 23:14-19 14 “Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival to me 15 “Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread; for seven days eat bread made without yeast, as I commanded you. Do this at the appointed time in the month of Aviv (around Late March, early April), for in that month you came out of Egypt. .

5 FEAST OF WEEKS Exodus 23:14-19
16 “Celebrate the Festival of Harvest with the first fruits of the crops you sow in your field. After the Feast of Unleavened Bread came the Feast of Weeks. The Feast of Weeks came seven WEEKS after the Feast of Unleavened Bread. That’s part of the reason behind the name of the feast.

6 FEAST OF BOOTHS Exodus 23:16b Celebrate the Festival of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in your crops from the field. The third celebration that God gave to the Jewish people was the Feast of In-gathering or Booths. This took place at the end of their harvest and everyone was to build a special little “Booth” or tent and spend one week out in their tents celebrating what God had given them in their crops. Imagine the fun the kids would have during this time!

7 Thanksgiving What are you thankful for today?
This is our day to set aside time to spend with Family and loved-ones to celebrate what God has done for us and talk about the things we are thankful for. What are you thankful for today?
