4 Student Research Opportunities Council for Undergraduate Research (CUR) Research Competitions Research Assistantships – Faculty With Grants – Research Centers Intellectual Property Development NOTE: OSR does not directly support students

5 Pre-Award Services Dr. Carla Reichard (1.0 FTE) Purpose – Provide support for the early stages of program and proposal development. Services – Assist in proposal development and submission – Cayuse Management – Review and negotiate research-related grants and contracts – Preparing Budgets – Registering for GRC, COS and SpinPlus

6 Post-Award Management Debbie Gibson Purpose – Provides financial and accounting infrastructure for awarded sponsored projects. Services – Oversee financial management of grants and contracts – Receive awards and establish accounts – Ensure compliance with expenditure regulations – ECRT (Time and Effort)

7 Technology Commercialization Brandon Reynolds Purpose – Encourages and supports UT Tyler inventors in moving viable inventions from the lab to the market. Services – Protection of Intellectual Property – Facilitate the creation of spin-offs – Assist with licensing – Marketing to industry and investors

8 OSR Staff Administration/Grants Management – Cheryl Samuel – Christian Moist Institutional Review Board (IRB) – Dr. Gloria Duke IUCAC – Dr. Lance Williams

9 Funding Distribution Goals: Increase Restricted Research Expenditures in CAS, CNHS, and CECS Capitalize on Research Infrastructure Investment Assist Colleges in Recruiting Faculty with Funding Potential Create Research Centers that Create Synergies
