6 Bath bucking the national trend At Bath: Overall applications are up by c. 4% UK applications are up by 1% Non-EU applications show an increase of 19% Undergraduate applications across Higher Education are down by 8.7% compared with 2011/12

7 The University of Bath in 2012 More than 15,000 students, one third of whom are postgraduate 81% of employed first degree graduates are in jobs in the top three employment groups compared with 63% nationally A research portfolio of £100 million A registered charity earning several million £ each year in philanthropic donations

8 The University of Bath in per cent of research was judged to be world-leading or 'internationally excellent' in the last Research Assessment Exercise in 2008 Bath graduates earn on average £4,000 more in their first year after graduation than the average from all UK universities The University hosts the British Paralympic teams preparation camps in the build-up to the London 2012 Paralympic Games

9 Global Presence Around 3,750 current students are international coming from over 100 different countries, making up over twenty per cent of the student population The University attracts the most students from China, USA, India, Malaysia, Greece, Germany, France and Cyprus New Pro-Vice Chancellor for Internationalisation will coordinate our significant activities overseas
