1 Summer Trip to Austria Saturday, June 18 Depart from Dulles Airport for Vienna, Austria Depart from Dulles Airport at 4:25 pm on Air France Flight No. 39 to Paris, France. After arriving in France, board Air France Flight No. 1138 in Paris at 7:15 am and arrive in Vienna at 9:15 am. Please be at Dulles Airport at 2:30 pm for checkin. Sunday, June 19 Arrive in Vienna and Board a Bus/Train to Graz After reaching our destination, we’ll board a bus or train to reach our host city of Graz. Upon arrival in Graz, relax for the remainder of the day and get to know your hosts. Monday, June 20 School Visit Day Spend the day at school with your Austrian correspondents and get to see what life is like attending high school in Graz. Tuesday, June 21 School Visit Day Spend the day at school with your Austrian correspondents and get to see what life is like attending high school in Graz. Wednesday, June 22 Walking Tour of Graz Explore the highlights of Graz, designated as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. You’ll visit the Zeughaus, which stores the 2 nd largest collection of armory behind the Tower of London. You’ll also visit the Town Hall and other buildings of interest. At the focal point of the town, the Schlossberg, you’ll climb 23 stories for a spectacular view of the city and a look at the former fortress that protected the townspeople from attacks by foreign invaders. Thursday, June 23 Walking Tour of Graz There’s more to see in this amazing city. We’ll stop by the Burg to see an interesting staircase that weaves in and out of itself. We drop by the mausoleum of Ferdinand II, the Holy Roman Emperor of the Hapsburg dynasty. And a visit and leisure time on the floating island on the river Mur.

2 Summer Trip to Austria Friday, June 24 Loipersdorf Spa & Klamm Today is devoted to rest and relaxation. Bring your swimsuit, a good book and sunglasses to relax in the restorative waters of the thermal region of Styria. Options include other spa services for a separate fee. Saturday, June 25 Free Day with Host Families Sunday, June 26 Free Day with Host Families Monday, June 27 Castle Riegersburg & Chocolate Factory Visit one of the most spectacular castles in all of Austria and the only one never conquered by an enemy. Take a rocky path up to the castle and pass through its amazing gates to discover the architectural and historical wonders of this structure. Then indulge in sweet treats at the chocolate factory. Tuesday, June 28 Lippizaner Farm and Monastery Rein Today enjoy a guided tour of where they raise the famous Lippizaner Horses of the Spanish Riding School. Then visit the oldest existing Cisterian monastery in the world and learn of its history through medieval times to present day. See the impressive Romanesque & Baroque interiors, and the area where astronomer Johannes Keppler kept his scientific records. Wednesday, June 29 Day Trip to Salzburg or Venice We will check feasibility and plan a wonderful day trip to one of these two exciting European cities. Salzburg is the birthplace of Amadeus Mozart. We could tour the beautiful mountainside or go down into the salt mines. Or cross the border into Italy, and explore the renowned floating city, and try authentic Italian cuisine. Thursday, June 30 Free Day Spend your final day in Graz as you wish. Do some last minute shopping or head back to school to say goodbye to your Austrian friends.

3 Summer Trip to Austria Friday, July 1 Transfer to Vienna Take the train in the morning to your final destination, the capital city of Austria. After check in, we’ll visit the Schoenbrunn Palace to explore its rooms and gardens, and then a visit of St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the catacombs. Free time is planned afterwards for shopping and exploring places of personal interest. Saturday, July 2 Free day in Vienna Perhaps you wish to spend the day at Prater Park or visiting an art gallery or history museum? Or maybe your idea of fun is taking a bus tour around the city or a boat along the Danube. Today let’s decide on a group activity and enjoy our final day in Austria. Sunday, July 3 Depart for Dulles Airport Bid farewell to Austria. Check out of the hotel at 9:30 and head over to Vienna airport where we will take the 12:55 pm Air France Flight No. 1657 from Vienna to Paris. And then later change to Air France Flight No. 26, leaving at 4:40 pm and arriving back at Dulles at 7:10 pm. Arrive back in the States in time to celebrate the 4 th and share your memories of your trip to Austria.
