Basically, the entire town grows in population and the economy generally picks up.

30 What caused the population in Wilmington to increase, then decrease, and then increase again? (Hint: There are three things that happened over time.)

51 Tourism is very important to the Coastal Plain. When tourists come to visit, they need places to stay, places to eat, and things to do. This provides jobs for people who live in these towns, and it also brings quite a bit of money into the towns. When movies are filmed in certain towns, it brings quite a bit of money in, too. The actors, actresses, and other set workers will need temporary housing, places to eat, and things to do during their down time. Tourism and filmmaking are very big industries in the Coastal Plain Region.
