2  At the T 3 conference in Atlanta in March, Texas Instruments introduced a new Nspire handheld and the 2.0 operating system  The new handheld has many improvements...

3 What’s New on the Handheld Overview:  New keypad configuration  Trackpad replaces the Navpad with more areas on the screen you can click  New Home Screen  New Scratchpad option to quickly perform a calculation or make a graph without having to add a page to your document  More options for managing documents (folders can have multiple levels)  Graphs and Geometry are now separate applications

16 Important Short-cut Keys Ctrl-Z or Ctrl-Esc Undo Ctrl-Y or Shift-Esc Redo Ctrl-X Cut Ctrl-C Copy Ctrl-V Paste Ctrl-S Save or Save As Ctrl-0 Scratchpad Remember, unlike a computer, you do not hold the CTRL key down. You simply press and release control then press the short-cut key.

17 Keypad Changes: Summary  Navigation keys have been improved  Alpha keys are separate  Fewer Function keys by combining similar functions into pop-up palettes (i.e trig, punctuation, math constants)  Templates like fractions and others are easily accessible from pop-up template palettes  Shortcut keys are the same as previous OS versions.

18 Changes to the Teacher Edition Software  Version 2.0 of the software is a free upgrade for previously licensed versions  Overview: Can use colour to distinguish graphs Integrated computer link software Emulator can show either keypad Menus for applications align with handheld menus and use icons to describe them Multiple documents can be open and displayed in the emulator Interfaces directly with Connect to Class and Navigator Most recent version is 2.0.1.60

20 These summer institutes provide teachers with hands-on opportunities to learn how to effectively use TI-Nspire in their classroom.
