2 Scene 1 Students coming to the story mat for Readers Theater as the narrator describes the educational and instructional aspects and benefits of Readers Theater Establishing shot

3 Scene 2 The teacher is explaining the book Today I Feel Silly and briefly introducing Readers Theater (close up of the teacher with the book) Teacher begins to read the story (Medium shot of the teacher reading to the group of students)

4 Scene 3 The teacher starts reading the book. Shot(s) of students faces watching/listening to the teacher read the book to the students Fade to the teacher finishing the book and then discussing how students will use props and create scenes to act out the character’s moods in the book.

5 Scene 4 Student will be in the midst of a messy scene acting silly, and dictating page 1. The shot will be taken from above showing all of the props and student on the floor below.

6 Scene 5 The camera will be placed on the floor to get a shot of the student laying down in the midst of the junky room while she reads page 2. Example of floor shot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XghcvDxJYQY

7 Scene 6 Medium shot with two students playing in the background. Student reading will be close to the camera dictating page 3 next to red curtains.

8 Scene 7 Medium shot of 3 students running towards the camera. The student reading will be the first through a finish line tape. Student speaking will be handed a 1st place award by a teacher of screen to hold and will run “excitedly” towards the camera for a close up, where the student will then dictate page 4.

9 Scene 8 Medium shot of student outside hanging sideways on the twisted swing dictating page 5. *Optional: Arc shot leading up to student dictating.

10 Scene 9 Student and a female adult will be walking in a hallway holding hands. You will only see the bottom half of the adult. The student will be holding an ice cream cone dictating page 6 to the camera. A mobile tripod will be used to track the duo as they are walking down the hall.

12 Scene 11 The camera will be placed at floor level. Medium shot of student laying down with arm over her head and thermometer in her mouth. A broken kite will be placed in the foreground at her feet. Student will take thermometer out of her mouth, look at the camera and dictate page 8. *Note the way the camera is angled on the student.

13 Scene 12 Long overhead shot of student sitting and waiting by the phone. Student resting her head on her arms with a look of boredom. Student sits up and faces the camera overhead and dictates page 9 while shrugging shoulders.

14 Scene 13 Medium shot of student with braided hair dancing to hip hop and jazz. Music will be played in the background for length of shot. Student will slow down dancing to face camera and dictate page 10.

15 Scene 14 Angled close shot of student with curly hair trying to make it straight. Student will be looking in the mirror holding blow dryer and brush to hair. The shot will include student’s back to the camera and reflection of student’s front in the mirror as she dictates page 11. Student will turn head, (but not body) to face the camera.

16 Scene 15 Shot begins with close up of student’s face with an expression of remembrance as she dictates page 12. Camera shot expands to long shot of student in the background talking to an adult. In the foreground a student is watching with her hands on her hip, tapping her foot.

17 Scene 16 Long shot of student jumping up and down with paper in hand. Fades to close shot of A+ in red writing on paper. Student is dictating page 13 for length of shot.

18 Scene 17 Medium shot of student smiling and twirling in circles and then skipping away, while waving her arms. Camera angle is overhead. Student dictates page 14.

19 Scene 18 Medium picture of student pointing at camera and asking question. Several scenes’ worth of props are scattered on the ground around the student. Student dictates page 15. Camera fades out.

20 Scene 19 Camera fades in on students beginning to put away props from Readers Theater project. After cleaning, they go sit or lay down comfortably on carpet to read piles of books that they are talking about with each other. Camera shot is a long shot. Narrator’s voice is heard summarizing the benefits of Readers Theater. Camera fades into “The End.”

21 Scene 20 Slide with “The End” in theatrical setting

22 Scene 20 Can we put a “spot light” effect in this slide as a design element maybe? (like they do in theater with an actor on stage) Credits slowly fade in and out like they do at the end of a movie either with/without music. Each name has a small graphic beside it as it appears.
