Computerized Administration Reports Redelivery Plan Day 2

3 What does RTI look like in your school?
Create a picture/model of your RTI process? Grade Level Use Guiding Questions

4 What GRASP believes… The best intervention is a trained teacher
Tier I issues must be addressed first All strategies should be targeted RTI is designed to prevent students from failing instead of waiting to offer help until a child fails

5 Universal Screening and Progress Monitoring Tools
Math CCSS Math Concepts & Applications: Grades 2-10 CCSS Digit Fluency: 2-9 Math Readiness Inventory (MRI): Grades K-1 Probes Single Skill, Mixed Skill and Fluency Reading Oral Reading Fluency: Grades 1-HS Reading Maze Comprehension: Grades 2-HS Reading Readiness Inventory (RRI) Sight Words, Phoneme Segmentation, Letter Recognition, Letter Sounds, Rhyming (pilot): Grades K-1 Probes for all of the above Computation Fluency - *

6 Big Picture of The GRASP Process
Set up the easy to use database Take screeners online or on paper Analyze data in teacher teams Schedule interventions Progress monitor- many probes available online! Examine student growth A Blueprint for Reform: Helps teachers adjust and focus their teaching, and aids in providing better information to students and their families (p. 11). *

7 Setting up the database

8 Take Screeners Online

9 Or Print a copy of a screener

10 Classwide Screener Average Cut/Zone Scores

11 Math Item Analysis

12 Plan Interventions

13 Implement Intervention and Progress Monitor
Probe Category: Word Problems - Adding and Subtracting Teacher: Crystal Boyd Intervention: Singapore Math Models Intervention Frequency: 1/week Probe Frequency: 1/week Goal: 4 Status:  In Progress

Students (See Screener Schedule) Standards Based Instruction Progress Monitor Interventions for Effectiveness Determine and Implement Tier 1 Interventions How GRASP fits into the RTI process Determine and Implement Tier 2, 3, and 4 Interventions

16 Let’s Start Screening………….
Reading Fluency – middle of 1st grade through HS

17 Administering Oral Reading Fluency

18 Let’s Check Your Work

19 Entering Scores Manually
Enter Score Write down oral fluency reading in box and we will show you where to put in score when we get to that part in the database. *

20 Getting Started grasp1.wgretc.org Login: email address
Password: ChangeMe If you can login, then go on a quick break or look at the screeners and probes in Downloads. If you cannot login, please let your trainer help you.

21 GRASP Guide to Database Setup and Screening
-See Message Center or Downloads -You will have an opportunity to add a student or use one of your students, take the screeners, and then delete the information!

22 Kindergarten & First Grade
Look at tests in Downloads Make a list of what screeners you will give beginning, middle and end of the year. There are several screeners. You can use them all or use some. You decide what works best and make it consistent.

23 Let’s Take Online Screeners
Maze Reading Comprehension - Practice Digit Fluency - Practice Create Testing Key Concepts and Applications – 5th grade (Elementary) 8th grade (M/HS) Can read maze if too hard only for practice Maze – practice CF – practice Concepts and Applications – real (depend on audience)

24 Reports… Classwide Screening Average Math Item Analysis
Student History Report

25 Review to give the first universal screeners
Paper/pencil screeners Make enough copies of the test for each student Pass out the tests face down Read the directions Begin the test Stop the test when time is up Score the tests Enter data in the database Online screeners Generate test key Assist students in logging in and selecting the right test Read the instructions Begin testing

26 Day 2 Training Make sure you have completed all of your screening before coming to Day 2. On day 2 we will use your data to do the following: Tier 1 plan Tier 2, 3 & 4 Progress monitoring using probes Inputting information into the GRASP database More Reports

27 Make a Redelivery Plan Who will redeliver?
Have students and teacher and student been imported? If not, let your trainer know. Who will be responsible for assigning students to classes? What will be your testing window? Where do you find the screeners if you are giving them paper pencil? Where do you find directions on how to give screeners? How do you put a score in the computer? How do you get a testing key? How do you give a computerized version? How do you look at reports? Classwide Screening Average Math Item Analysis Student History Report Powerpoint for redelivery *
