5 New Swimmers Skill level will be assessed for ALL new team members at the June 1 and 2 practices. Swimmers will be given six days of practice before final determination of readiness will occur. 11 What Do We Need From You? 12 Volunteering Referee: Has full authority over all officials and is responsible for enforcing all rules. Also shall signal the starter that all officials are in position and ready for each race. This position requires stroke and turn judge and starter experience, and referee training. Starter : Responsible for announcing each event. This position requires experience as a stroke and turn judge, and starter training. Stroke and Turn judges: Responsible for determining if the swimmers are doing legal strokes as defined by the USA Swimming Rules. This position requires stroke and turn judge training. Announcer: Responsible for announcing the starting of the meet, playing the National Anthem, making sure the flag is displayed, and making any other necessary announcements during the meet such as breaks, results, etc. Runner: Takes the time cards from the timers and brings them to the computer table. Assists clerk of course with distributing time cards.

13 Volunteering Clerk of course: Holds all the timecards and is responsible for calling out the kids names and lining them up for their events. Chief timer: Makes sure all timers are ready before each event and starts his stopwatch for each event as a backup if any lane timers have a problem. Chief timer assistant: Helps the chief timer as necessary and also keeps a backup time. Ribbons: Receives the timecards from the runners and orders/groups the timecards by event with any associated DQ slips and then gives them to the computer people. Once the entries are recorded and labels are printed, the ribbon people stick the labels on the appropriate ribbon and store them for their team. Computers: Responsible for entering the times from the timecards into the computer.

14 Volunteering Set-Up: At home meets, must set up the pool for the meet. For a Saturday meet, setup volunteers must arrive at the pool on the FRIDAY night before the meet at 7:45 p.m. and on Saturday by 7:30 am to set up concessions. For Wednesday meets, set up people must get to the pool by 4:00 p.m. Concessions: Responsible for selling and helping setup and breakdown the concessions. Awards clerk: For Wed. home meets, responsible for giving out a "Heat Winner" ribbon to the swimmer that wins each heat. Donut Sales: Helps with pick up, sale, and distribution of Krispy Kreme Donuts. Banquet: Helps with set up, clean up, and/or food preparation for end of season banquet
