What should be in your document? 1.Problem identified – Why are you working on this project and what you want to tell others? 2. Introduction of cells (Plant & Animal) 3. How are cells built to give life? DESIGN SPECIFICATION – 1.Which software are you going to use to draw CELLS? 2.What will be the paper size and orientation? 3.Will you be labelling the parts as it is in the picture? 4.Are you thinking of any background for the page? 5.Resources from where you got your information and images. AOI – HEALTH & SOCIAL EDUCATION ATL – INFORMATION LITERACY & SKILLS

Students must create at least three designs for each page one for plant cell and one for animal cell and fully evaluate them against the design specifications. FOR EXAMPLE:DESIGN S- Plant Cell Picture from internet TITLE (PLANT CELL) Labels This is the drawing I will do in Paint. Title – Plant Cell Picture from the net Title –plant cell Picture from the net. Design - 1 Design - 2 Design - 3

Follow what you need to do in this section: Planning is of primary importance in the demonstration of the ability to organize both time and resources. In order for this stage to be assessed, students must document their work-plan and justify their choice of alternatives. An example : 1.Open and log on to Ms Paint will take me 1 minute. 2.I will look at the features of Ms Paint - 15 minutes 3.Start looking at background – 10 minutes 4.Work with shapes – 10 minutes 5.Look at how the text box can be created – 10 minutes 6.…….. 7.……

- Get started with Ms Paint software and work on creating the cells asked for: - Copy the Internet picture of a PLANT CELL and draw using the Paint tools as the Plant cell you have pasted on paint. - Label the parts as shown in the Picture. - Insert your name at the bottom of the page - Clear title on the page stating “PLANT CELL” or “ANIMAL CELL”. - By next SUNDAY you should complete the task.

This is the last stage of your MYP Design Cycle project. Now is the time when you have to evaluate your drawings and how you performed. Follow the steps: 1.Product (Drawing) Evaluation: > Explain how good is your drawing of animal cell and plant cell? > Did you learn something while you were drawing the cells? > Did you use the features and tools in Ms Paint? > Show your drawings to at least TWO of your friends and ask them what they think of your drawings.

2. SELF EVALUATION: > How well did you perform in completing the project? > Did you face any difficulties in completing the task?  Which stage of the design cycle was interesting for you?  Do you think you could have improved your drawing if you had more time?
