Jupiter Size relative to Earth Distance form Sun Special surface features Where did Jupiter’s name come from Moons of Jupiter Missions and/or satellites that involve Jupiter Atmosphere Age/History of Jupiter Color Rate of rotation and revolution Interesting facts

5 Size Relative to Earth Jupiter’s diameter relative to Earth is 142,984 kilometers

6 Distance from Sun Jupiter is 5.2 Astronomical Units away from the Sun

7 Special Surface Features
It may have a rocky core of heavier elements under high pressure. Jupiter’s shape is an ablate spheroid.

8 Where Did Jupiter’s Name Come From
The Romans named the planets after the Roman God Jupiter

9 Moons Jupiter has at least 63 moons.

10 Pictures of Jupiter

11 Missions or Satellites That Involve Jupiter
NASA launched the Voyager spacecraft to Jupiter I the late summer of 1977. Its closets approach to Jupiter occurred March 5, 1979. Satellites Jupiter has 63 named natural satellites.

12 Atmosphere Jupiter is primarily composed of hydrogen with a small proportion of helium. The outermost layer or the atmosphere contains crystals of frozen ammonia.

13 Age/History of Jupiter
Jupiter is about the same age as the Sun. (4.5 billion years old) History In 1610 Galileo discovered the four largest moon’s of Jupiter

14 The Color of Jupiter Jupiter has orange and white bands.
The white bands are colored by ammonia clouds, while the orange comes from ammonium hydrosulfide clouds.

15 Rate of Rotation and Revolution
Jupiter’s rotation is the solar system’s fastest. Completing rotation on its axis in slightly less than ten hours. It takes Jupiter 41 day for its rotation period. Revolution Jupiter revolution period takes years.

16 Interesting Facts 390,682,810 Jupiter is 390,682,810 miles from Earth.
If the Earth and Jupiter are not in a line with the sun I the middle, however, this may be incorrect. NASA is planning to launch Juno the spacecraft by 2011. 390,682,810

20 Credits We hope you enjoy or miraculous and educational presentation about Jupiter. Doing this not only helped us inform and educate you about it, but also it help us to. Jupiter is a very unique planet even though it could never be better than Earth. We enjoyed learning something new about another planet besides Earth that we never took the time to learn about.
