Scenario: Your life-long idol arrives in line behind you at Target.  “I was so excited”  SHOW me your excitement:

2 10H Writing Reminders: 3. Watch verb tense! Memoir writing should be in past tense (memory of an event). When writing about literature, ALWAYS use present tense. Consider the fact that the text still exists. 4. Use proper heading for ALL essays. This should include name, date, and block in the upper left-hand corner of your essay (double- spaced). Title should be centered in the same size font.

3 10H Writing Reminders John Doe 9/19/13 OR September 19, 2013 Block 1/Williams Title

4 10H Writing Reminders 5. Remember, parenthetical citations ALWAYS come at the end of the sentence! “...kill the beast!” (Golding 75). 6. A thesis statement must make an argument! Do not simply state the obvious. Instead, build conclusions about what the author’s message/purpose is. This should ALWAYS relate to humanity/society at large.
