CURRENCY AND EXCHANGE RATE (WITH MULTI-CURRENCY OPTION)

Multi-Currency Option Check the Multi-Currency option to display Currency and Exchange Rate parameters at the element level. Options/ Set Project Parameters

Multi-Currency Option When the Multi-Currency option is NOT checked, Currency and Exchange Rate defined in the Project Parameters dialog will apply to all work elements in the project. Project Parameters dialog can be accessed via the Options menu. Use the Multi-Currency option if you need to define specific work elements of your project in different currencies. The Currency and Exchange Rate parameters are enabled at the work element level on the Labor Rates, Costs & Factors tab when you check the Multi-Currency option. Currency and Exchange Rate data are stored in the SEER-H Data.ini file which can also be customized as required. Default project settings of the Currency Code, Exchange Rate, and Multi-Currency mode are stored in the SEER-H Settings.ini which can be customized as required. Please check to ensure that the default currency stored in the SEER-H Settings.ini exists in the currency table stored in the SEER-H Data.ini.

Edit Exchange Rates Currency and Exchange Rate data are initially loaded from the SEER-H Data.ini file in every new instance of SEER-H. Save and apply updated exchange rates for current instance of SEER-H and exit the Edit Exchange Rates dialog. Go to Estimate/ Refresh Exchange Rates to update existing work elements with the new set of exchange rates. Save and apply updated exchange rates for current instance of SEER-H and exit the Edit Exchange Rates dialog. Go to Estimate/ Refresh Exchange Rates to update existing work elements with the new set of exchange rates. Replace default exchange rates in the SEER-H Data.ini file.

Refresh Exchange Rates If the new exchange rate is not the same as the current rate, it will be shown in blue. After you click on the Refresh button, the Update Status column will show the updated status for all work elements. Locked exchange rates are bypassed. After you click on the Refresh button, the Update Status column will show the updated status for all work elements. Locked exchange rates are bypassed.

Multi-Currency Summary Report Only available at the project/ rollup level when the Multi- Currency option has been enabled. It shows a cost summary in all the currencies that make up the total. Go to Options/ Set Project Parameters to enable the Multi- Currency option.

Work Element Cost Summary Report Only available at the project/ rollup level. Provides a cost summary for each subordinate element in its selected currency. Exchange Rate at the Rollup Level will adjust the rollup reported costs to reflect the selected rollup currency. Work elements that are excluded from rollups/ totals are displayed in gray fonts in this report. These elements will not be copied to the clipboard when you copy this report. At project/ rollup, subelement costs are converted to rollup’s currency. Display currency code and exchange rate selected for each work element. Elements excluded from rollups/ totals are grayed out.

ADDIN ENHANCEMENT

New parameters in Additional Item Local quantity parameter to multiply input hours or costs. Option to multiply the Development Hours/ Material Costs by the number of Prototypes or the Production Hours/ Material Costs by production units. A choice to multiply the local quantity by duration or spread the total over duration. New cost category “Other” added to Development Labor and Material to include costs/ hours that do not fit well in the standard SEER-H cost activities.

New Cost Category “Other” Hours/ Material Costs passed through via the Addin will be reported at both the work element and higher level rollups.

Wraps/ Fee in Addin Wraps/Fee parameters for development, production, system level costs are added to the Addin element at the bottom of the Labor Rates, Costs & Factors tab. Use these parameters to add wraps/ fee to the pass-through costs. Wraps/ Fee reported separately in Development Labor by Category, Production Labor by Category, Activity Report, and Development Cost by Phase.

Refresh Option 2 Select additional items to update. Select labor rate parameters to update.

NOTES AND ATTACHMENTS

Notes and Attachments Notes information are now stored in a SQLite database instead of using three files (*.cdx, *.dbf, *.fpt) which are compressed. Enhanced edit functionality Attach files with notes. Indicate files are attached to work element.

PROJECT SCENARIOS

Project Scenarios Scenario information, just like notes, will be stored in a SQLite database. To create new scenarios, you no longer need to attach query commands to work element and/ or parameter notes. Use the new query dialogs instead. Query commands option, however, will remain available.

Manage Element Scenario Query Use this dialog to add/ edit scenario query for a work element. This dialog can be accessed via the right click context menu for work elements.

Manage Parameter Scenario Query Use this dialog to add/ edit scenario query for a parameter. This dialog can be accessed via the right click context menu for parameters.

Parameter Dialog

Scenario Options in Tools Menu The Tools menu now includes a new Scenario pull-right menu with three new options: Review/ Edit Scenario (not in this release but coming soon) Clear Scenario Query Settings Set Parameter Entries as Defaults

Clear Scenario Query Settings Remove all scenario query settings for all work elements in the project. Scenario query settings include work element query information and parameter query information. A warning message box will appear for confirmation.

Set Parameter Entries as Defaults When enabled, parameters with user entries will be converted to default values when the scenario is saved. Applies only when using the File/ Save as Scenario command. When scenario is loaded, parameter values will appear as default/Knowledge Base settings (i.e., will not be in bold font).

MONTE CARLO RISK CALCULATION

Monte Carlo Risk Calculation Formerly known as Rollup Risk Calculation. Available at all work element levels. Monte Carlo Option dialog box allows users to choose between fully correlated and fully uncorrelated work element outcomes as well as to select the output types to perform Monte Carlo Risk Calculation. Enhanced performance. Can be performed in project with at most 10,000 Rollups.

Monte Carlo Options

Monte Carlo Risk Reports at Project/ Rollup At Project/ Rollup, only risk results for the assumed correlation between work element outcomes will be displayed. All parameters are assumed to be fully correlated.

Monte Carlo Risk Reports at Non-rollup At non-rollup, risk results are computed with the assumption that all parameters are fully correlated.

Risk Charts at Non-rollup The Risk charts for non-rollup have been redesigned to display Monte Carlo risk results when available. When Monte Carlo results are displayed, “Monte Carlo Simulation on” is added to the chart title next to the work element name. Development Cost Risk at Non-Rollup (Monte Carlo is OFF)

Risk Charts at Non-rollup Development Cost Risk at Non-Rollup (Monte Carlo is ON)
