Week 6

Turn in “Charting Prices” Partner Check “Figuring Commission” and “Buying Stock” Turn in your Commission Check to Ms. Drake with your explanation. THIS WEEK: You are going to write a company profile for your corporation. Your company profile should provide as many details about your corporation as possible. This is going to be the first page in your Stock Portfolio, which is the final product of this unit.

Things to consider: What is the purpose of my graph? The required graph will show the change in your corporation’s stock value over the course of the nine weeks. Extra graphs might show how many shares of particular stocks you own, your Fiscal Report balance change over the course of the nine weeks, change in the value of each of the stocks you own, etc. How much does the price change over the period of time that I am graphing? What should the lowest value be? What should the highest value be? How can I display this best?

Step 1: Find the range in values. There are two sets of values. What units are used? Step 2: Determine a Scale. Start with the horizontal scale. How will you label the time that is elapsing? Continue with the vertical scale (the value of your stock). Label your vertical axis. The vertical axis must always begin at 0. Determine whether the greatest value will fit on the graph. If it doesn't, then change the scale and try again. Now repeat this process for the vertical scale. Increments must remain equal on the graph to provide a true visual of the data you are sharing.

Step 1:Find the range in values. Step 2:Determine a scale. Step 3:Label the graph. Step 4:Plot the points and connect them. Step 5:Give the graph a title.

You’ll receive your week 7 dividends. It’s the last week to buy new shares of stock. We will begin work on the final stage of this unit, the Stock Portfolio and Reflection.
