3. Desert Biodiversity Plant species: creosote bush, sagebrush, ocotillo, and cacti Animal species: snakes,insects,lizards,skinks, geckos, gazelles, dikdiks, kangaroo,rat, and kit fox 15 different kinds of plants and animals.

Some plants have seeds that can stay dormant in the sand for a long time until there is enough rain for them to grow Animal: Some mice build their home out of fallen cactus spines to protect themselves from predators
