2 Employability Pathways Dunedin Canmore Group Housing Association formed in 2005 Edinburgh, Lothians and Fife Housing, tenancy services, development services, financial inclusion services and social enterprise Four Square Voluntary sector organisation Edinburgh and Lothians Accommodation, tenancy support, advice and advocacy services, skills training and social enterprise

3 Employability Pathways 2009/2010: 2008/2009 Unemployment is a growing problem for Dunedin Canmore tenants Unemployment up from 26% - 32% F/t employment down from 31% -24%

4 Employability Pathways Dunedin Canmore is housing more tenants with debt problems Debts reported at Initial Interview increased from £420,832 to £522,096 Debts rescheduled increased from £75,903 to £90,378

5 Employability Pathways ‘Employability Pathways’ is a partnership with Four Square offering early intervention and tailored employability support for all Dunedin Canmore tenants Overall aims : To improve the quality of life, stability, skills and employability of Dunedin Canmore tenants and vulnerable individuals in the wider community To help tenants sustain tenancies and make the most of existing initiatives, advice and support

7 Employability Pathways: Employability support Holistic: Recognises the need to address all of the issues of individuals as an integrated process Flexible: Understands that for many vulnerable tenants progression towards stability and sustainable employment is not a linear process Person Centred: Provides guidance and employability support tailored to the start point and changing needs of individuals at any given point in their journey Case Management /Co-Case Working: Works collaboratively with individuals, housing officers, support services and education, training and employment agencies to address barriers, co-ordinate support and streamline progression routes
