2 UNIT 4 - Reading This units reading will focus on enhancing PowerPoint presentations. Textbook – This week there is no assigned readings from your textbook. Web Reading – Here are tips for adding sound and video to PowerPoint 2007 Presentations. – Play a CD Track in a PowerPoint 2007 Presentation.

4 UNIT 4 - DB Today there is a wide array of multimedia presentation platforms with which to create a variety of presentations. Visit some of the following sites and take some time explore these. What site or sites do you think would make a good resource for a company to create a multimedia rich presentation? Feel free to create a presentation at one of these sites and share it with the class if you like. 5 UNIT 4 - Project Scenario: You have completed your biography presentation and now you want to enhance it by adding narration or perhaps some music to make it more professional and appealing to your new team and boss.

6 UNIT 4 - Project Project Details: Decide whether you will use.WAV file to add music to your presentation or you will record your voice to narrate your presentation. You can only choose one option. Narration: Record your voice and embed it into just the first slide of your presentation. You narration should be clear and sound professional. It can be no longer than 1 minute in length to ensure the file does not exceed the size limit allowed in our dropbox. (50 points) – You will need a microphone for this option. – To learn how to record narration in a PowerPoint presentation visit: Adding Narration to PowerPoint Music: For this option you will add music to the last slide of your presentation. It should be appropriate music that will show your personality and leave your team and boss knowing the type of person you are (fun, serious, motivated, laid back, etc…) (50 Points) – Do not use a music file from a CD as it will not embed correctly and your instructor will not be able to hear your music selection. – Visit the IT 133 Help Site and download the zipped WAV file there, or download the zipped file of WAV files from the doc sharing area. – To learn how to embed a.WAV file into a PowerPoint presentation visit: Adding Music to PowerPoint

9 How To Add, music, songs, or sound effects Display the slide to which you want to add music or sound effects. On the Insert menu, point to Movies and Sounds, and then do one of the following: Insert a sound file or Insert a sound clip from Clip Organizer Double-click the sound file that you want to insert. When a message is displayed, do one of the following: – To play the music or sound automatically when you go to the slide, click Automatically. – To play the music or sound only when you click the sound icon, click When Clicked. To adjust the settings for when the sound file stops, click the sound icon, right- click, and then click Custom Animation. In the Custom Animation task pane, click the arrow on the selected item in the Custom Animation list, and then click Effect Options. On the Effect tab, under Stop playing, do one of the following: – To stop the sound file on mouse-click of this slide, select On click (the default). – To stop the sound file after this slide, select After current slide. – To keep the sound file playing for several slides, select After, and then set the total number of slides the file should play on.
