1 Western Dragon Element: Earth and Water Description: Created from parts of various creatures, having eagle's feet, two bat-like wings, lion's forelimbs, reptile’s head, fish's scales, antelope's horns and a serpentine form of spade tail. Can be any colour- some can change colour. Usually breathe fire. Powers: Have huge hoards of gold and jewels hidden in their lairs. Known to live more than 300 years; some are even immortal. Magic: Eating dragons' heart gives power of understanding the language of animals. Rubbing dragons' blood on skin protects against stabs.

2 Oriental Dragon Element: Water and Wind Description: Are made up of the body of a snake, scales of a carp, head of a camel, horns of a deer, the eyes of a hare, a neck like an iguana, belly of a frog, paws like a tigers, claws like an eagle, lion-type mane on its neck and chin. Found in blue, black, white, red, green or yellow. Do not usually breath fire, nor do they fly. Powers: Influences weather and water courses. Types: Are classified according to the number of claws. Most five clawed dragons- Chinese. Three clawed dragons- Japanese. Four clawed dragons- Chinese, Indonesian or Korean.

3 Firedrake Element: Earth and Fire Description: Have a long tail with small black spikes from the tail to the torso. Have a medium-length snout with its nostrils rising slightly over the end of the snout. Scales are fairly hard and are difficult to penetrate. Has strong wings and can move very swiftly. Uses its tail and claws to attack its prey but can also breathe fire. Are reddish in colour and live to around 150 years of age. Powers: They often live in caves and guard great treasure. Breathe fire to defend themselves. Origin: Germany and France Famous: Wiglaf, the firedrake killed by Beowulf.

4 Wyvern Element: Earth Description: Two-legged dragon with two wings, a serpent’s head and the claws of an eagle. May have claws on the wings and a sting filled with poison on the end of its tail. Powers: Has poisonous and corrupt breath. Quick and powerful. Origin: Mountains of central Europe and Sweden. Famous: Marco Polo met and described Wyvern while crossing Central Asia. Also Known As: Wyver, Lindworm, Lindorm, Wouive, Vouivre

5 Ourobouros Element: Earth and Water Description: A serpent endlessly eats his own tail. Powers: Constantly renews its skin and vigour, symbolising continued youth and eternity. The Ouroboros eats its own tail to sustain its life, in an eternal cycle of renewal. It is also an emblem of immortality. Keeps the cosmic waters under control. Origin: Egypt, Phoenicia and Greece. Also Known As: Oroborus, Uroboros, and Oureboros.

6 Dragonet Element: Earth Description: Small dragons less than 1.5 m high but very fierce and hostile to humans. Powers: Has poisonous blood and exhales deadly fiery breath. Origin: Switzerland. Famous: The dragons of Wilser who lived on the Mount Pilate (Switzerland). Was eventually killed by an exiled towns member named Winckelriedt, who went up to the cave and fought the dragonet.Winckelriedt saw an opening to strike when the dragonet allowed him to get too close.

7 Icedrake Element: Water Description: Have wings but do not fly- can rear up on its hind legs, using its tail to balance. Look like large lizards and are between 5-20 metres long. Are usually while or light blue in colour with greyish scales and red eyes. Live to around 150 years of age. Are fond of treasure and often guard large hoards. Powers: Exhales snow and hail rather than poison or fire. Origin: North America, Norway, Sweden, Finland and north-eastern regions of Russia.
