2. Let the light of your face shine on us  Many, Lord, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity ?” Let the light of your face shine on us.  7 Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound.  8 In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. Ps 4:6-8

3. Nations’ need for illumination  29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. 32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.  Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out !  “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?”  “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” Rom 11:329-35

4. God’s Gift of Illumination  19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.  20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true ; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.  21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen. 1 Jn 5:19-21

5. Repentance to Life  16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ 17 If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?”  18 When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life. ” Acts 11:16-18

6. In Your light we see light  For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.  Oh, continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, And Your righteousness to the upright in heart. Ps 36:9,10

Illumination leads to true worship  35 Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God? ”  36 He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?”  37 And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.”  38 Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him. Jn 9: 35-38

9. (St. Augustine)  You are the Light to the children of light! Your day knows no sunset! It illuminates for Your children so that they would not stumble! Those who are outside of You, walk and live in darkness.
