3 Movie summary Bolt thinks that he has super powers but he gets separated from the “magic” of technology. Penny, a little girl, and her dog, Bolt, are the heroes of a TV show. He is sent accidently to New York where he meets Mittens, a cat, and Rhino, a fat hamster, in a plastic ball. They cross U.S. to rescue Penny from Doctor Calico, a mean person in the TV show. During the trip Mittens makes Bolt realized that his super power does not exist. Finally he arrives in Hollywood, he rescues Penny from a fire in the studio. 6 Animation facts The look of the film was inspired by the paintings of Edward Hopper. The film makers use non-photo realistic rendering. Bolt is an American white Shepherd with long ears, caricatured in the movie with very long ears to emphasize the expressiveness of the dog. Rhino was designed from a real chinchilla pet. Rhino, the hamster, was originally supposed to be a rat. During the initial story retreat to develop the idea for the film, Rhino was morphed into a hamster riding inside a plastic ball.
