6 6 Team Evaluation Form and Methods  Performance ranking system 1 – N (N= number in group or team)  Comments to top or bottom 2 selected 1.Helped someone out who was struggling. Great team resource. Kept the team focused. Exhibited superior technical knowledge that helped to solve a problem. Applied key skills throughout the project, Most consistent, most innovative Vs 2.Inconsistent, lacked interest in the team, missed meeting, not engaged, difficult team mate, I would not like to work with them again, individual There are many methods to evaluation or appraise performance. Companies and businesses All use various methods as part of their Human Resources recognition and rewards system. Team evaluations are particularly difficult. This example is based upon elements of a system I have used successfully in industry. This ranking system or similar concepts are widely used in most large organizations. The basic elements are: Use a Peer Based Rank List that allows the identification of Top Contributors vs. Bottom Contributors in a rank order. The rank positions are weighted based upon the number of votes for 1 and 2 positions and bottom two positions from team members. Brief Comments are allow to help focus attention a key action or event (a reason) that influenced the decision to place a person in either of the two groups (either top contributor group or bottom contributor group). Bloom’s taxonomy is of action verbs are a good source to help find the right descriptive words for events and actions

7 7 Scoring Methods are Widely Used to Quantify and Measure and Assign a Numerical Value  Scoring and quantifying and measurement is a commonly used element in business, science and technology.  Uses include: Surveys, Human Resources – Salary Appraisals, Business proposals for selected the best proposals, Software and IT – Used to evaluate and select most suitable or best value software package or tools, etc. The list goes on and on….. Summary:

Resources Needed/ 4.When?

11 11 Downtown Internet Café’ Key Elements Review – Cont’d  Analysis is focused on “Sales data” – for 1 st memo or product in order to support an imminent decision.  Charts used in Word Documents should have a brief narrative explanation to introduce the object. What is it??  This is commonly used in Word with Figures such as embedded charts, graphs or table used. Does not have to be long but usually it is place before the item. Subsequence references to the same item do not need another introductory statement.  All Professional letters or Memos used in business setting should have a “Closing or summary statement”. “Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions regarding the data.” This opens the opportunity for meaningful dialog and discussion. 1. The 1qtr “Sales memo/letter” The letter - Is the key product and 2 nd letter is secondary.
