Complimentary Colors Color Harmonies

 Grouping of colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.  Much More of a soothing combo than Complimentary.  Used when painting grass, leaves, or any painting that would need subtle color change.

Analogous

 Primary Color and Secondary Color groups are examples of a triadic scheme.  When you take the colorwheel and find colors separated by equal 3rds.

 Analogous color combo that could be used to make a painting feel cold.  These colors are to be used in place of blacks in shadows.  Colors are found on the blue side of the color wheel.

Use Cool Colors Instead of Blacks and grays to make the illusion of shadows.

 Analogous color scheme that gives the illusion of warmth.  Used to show sunkissed surfaces.  Temperature of the day.  Colors found on the orange side of the color wheel.

Use warm colors to show the warmth of a sun kissed surface.

 Tints are the adding of white to a color to make it lighter.  Shades are adding of black to a color to make colors darker. + WHITE + BLACK

 Using tints and shades to Paint or Draw.  Does Not mater what color you are using as long as you continuously use the same color just different tints or shades of that color.
