2 Feeding Your Baby A baby feeding guide will tell you that parents will feed their babies on a 2-3 hour schedule that is a somewhat flexible routine based on cues the baby gives when it cries. Crying is a late hunger cue, so don’t assume that your baby doesn’t need food until she cries. Some newborns can go 5-6 hours between baby feeding schedules, which is entirely inadequate for their nutritional needs. The fact is, your baby needs food. If you give your baby the nutrition she needs, you are a good mom. Whatever form of feeding you choose, the most important thing to consider is the gentle, tender cuddling you provide for your baby during the feeding. Feeding babies is a way for moms to bond and learn what pleases their baby. Mother’s milk is the complete and perfect food, and is nothing short of miraculous. But if you choose to feed formula, it's ok. You are not doing irreparable harm to your baby. While breastfeeding is preferred by most pediatricians, there are women who are unable to successfully nurse their babies.

3 F EEDING YOUR TODDLER Your 32-inch-tall toddler ideally should eat about 1,300 calories a day for normal growth and weight gain. Daily Toddler Need: Fruits & Veggies 4 servings per day, Protein 2 servings per day, Dairy 16-24 ounces per day and Grains 4 servings per day. QUICK TIP Your Toddler does NOT need to eat as much as you think he/she does! Medical Professionals will tell you - children grow more slowly after the age of 12 months. Hence, their caloric needs are less than what they were during the rapid growth period of newborn to 1 yr. old.

5 Toddler Facts THE average toddler takes 176 steps a minute. SIX-year-olds laugh an average of 300 times a day. Adults only laugh around 60 times a day. IN toddlers, most choking accidents that don't in food are caused by balloons (29 per cent), and balls and marbles (19 per cent.) ABOUT a quarter of all children go sleepwalking at least once between the ages of seven and 12. CHILDREN grow twice as fast in spring as they do in autumn, but they put on more weight in autumn than in spring. POUND for pound, babies and toddlers are stronger than an ox, especially in their legs. ONE in five toddlers can open medicine bottles with child-resistant tops.

6  Everyday: Breakfast- 8am ish.  Snack- 10:30am  Lunch- 12:00-1:00pm  Snack- 3:00pm  Dinner- 5:30pm ish.  Dessert- After dinner 

7  Breakfast: 2 cups whole grain cereal with 1\2 cup milk and 2 servings fruit.  Snack: 1 cup Veggies with hummus.  Lunch: Grilled Cheese sand which on whole grain toast with turkey and a glass of 100% juice.  Snack: 1 chocolate chip cookie and 1 cup of milk.  Dinner: Chicken\fish, 1 Cup steamed veggies, 1\2 cup sweet potatoes.  Dessert: 2 servings of fruit with whipping cream.

8  Breakfast: 1 slice Whole grain toast with almond butter and jam and 1 cup of milk.  Snack: 2 servings of fruit  Lunch: 2 cups of vegetable soup and a cup of 100% juice.  Snack: 1 Cookie and a cup of milk  Dinner: Meat and steamed veggies, with grated cheese and water.  Dessert: 1 1\2 cups of frozen yogurt.

9  Breakfast: Oatmeal with 1 serving fruit and 1 cup of milk.  Snack: 1 1\2 cup veggies with dip.  Lunch: Chicken nuggets with 1 apple sauce.  Snack: 100% juice box  Dinner: Spaghetti with tomato and turkey sauce, steamed veggies and a cup of milk.  Dessert: 1 slice of chocolate cake.

10  Breakfast: 1 Slice whole grain toast with peanut butter and honey, and 1 cup of milk.  Snack: 100% juice box and small yogurt.  Lunch: Left over spaghetti and veggies with dip.  Snack: Cookie with apple sauce.  Dinner: Fish and steamed veggies with a baked potato.  Dessert: 1 chocolate protein shake.

11  Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs with veggies and a glass of milk  Snack: 1 small yogurt with 1 serving of fruit.  Lunch: 1 sand which with two slices of whole grain bread, with meat, cheese, veggies and a light sauce.  Snack: 1 cookie and a 100% juice box.  Dinner: Homemade french fries with ketchup and veggies and dip.  Dessert: 1 cup of icecream.
