Step one: Make sure your heading is correct please. A title (e.g. An Analysis of Title ) should be centered below the title. Is your last name and page number in the upper right hand corner of every page? E.g. Smith 1 Use the formatting checklist to make sure your paper is in MLA format. Papers not formatted correctly will not be accepted. You will need to fix the paper and turn it in the next day for a lower meeting deadline score.
W ORK C ITED Last, First. Title. City: Publisher, year. Skip a line after your conclusion and include the information for your book as you see above.
Please use the yellow highlighter to highlight the concrete details in the body paragraphs. Have you included a citation? If not, put (Author #) on your essay at the end of the sentence that requires the citation. Add in your authors last name and the correct page number in your final draft due Tuesday. Read through your essay. Cross out phrases such as This shows that, This is because, I think that, and I believe that.
P EER -E DITING You will trade drafts with your partner. Your partner will read your draft out loud to you. As you listen to your draft, makes notes to yourself regarding Repetitive word choice/usage Awkward sentences Repetitive sentence beginnings Sentences that do not flow together, etc. Now, read your partners paper out loud while he/she makes notes.
